HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION AND RAPID RE-HOUSING
HPRP
The
Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing
Program (HPRP) operates through the
Community Resource Center of Johnson County
and is funded by the Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD).
Program overview:
The focus of this program is to
assist low-income families or individuals
who are at risk of becoming homeless. The emphasis is on
identifying the most pressing needs and
using HPRP funds or other resources in the
community to meet those needs. People
who qualify for HPRP will work with the case
manger to develop a plan to identify
circumstances and/or behaviors that may be
contributing to their current financial
crisis. The program is designed to
quickly stabilize households and is not
meant to offer long term
assistance.
The goal of HPRP is achieve housing
stability. The case manager's goal is
to work with families or individuals to
develop a support system that will encourage financial
self-sufficiency.
